About the role

The Digital Workplace Specialist role is responsible for making sure that all IT systems and equipment for the daily work of Qbtech employees operate efficiently. This position will focus on bringing maximum value out of Qbtech’s core tools for productivity, collaboration and improvements. This includes managing software installs, configuration management for equipment/clients (computers, phones, etc), and handling day-to-day internal tickets.
As a Digital Workplace Specialist, you will be at the heart of our IT transformation. Your responsibilities will include
- Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with our technology vendors to ensure we have the best tools and services available.
- Modern IT Support: Provide top-notch IT support, leveraging the latest technologies to keep our team productive and our systems running smoothly. We have an exciting "0 DWP Support tickets goal" for EOY 2025. You'll play a key role in ensuring those tickets are first solved but then analyzed and planned for automation
- Tool Administration: Oversee the administration of our digital tools and platforms, ensuring they are optimized for efficiency and user satisfaction. This includes hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of a variety of third-party SaaS applications.
- New Work Creation: Lead and manage innovative projects, developing new processes and technologies that will enhance our digital workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide first line support to all employees at Qbtech
- Act on incoming tickets in the ITSM system and prioritize them according to business needs
- Digital onboarding / off-boarding of employees
- Helping employees with digital workplace tickets (advice, configuration assistance, software installs etc.)
- Maintain documentation and knowledge bases for digital tools and platforms.
- Ensure all digital workplace solutions meet security and compliance standards. Configuration management for our various systems where security is an important part (computers, phones, etc)
- Manage meeting room devices and user equipment/inventory tracking in Snipe-IT and conduct audits for IT inventory.
- Evaluate potential software additions for Qbtech digital workplace (platform development)
We are looking for someone who has
- Previous 3-5 years experience in a similar role
- A strong "can do" attitude and a love for helping people.
- Fluent English written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience in a digital workplace or IT support role.
- An understanding of IT fundamentals and a capability for finding systematic issues and repetitive tasks.
- A collaborative spirit and a preference for teamwork in different time zones over working alone
- Strong organization, communication and documentation abilities
- Project management skills and familiarity with tools like Jira, and Confluence.
- Software development experience in some form (perhaps PowerShell scripting/automation)
- Experience working with Microsoft 365 platforms and services such as Entra ID, and Intune.
- Basic network troubleshooting experience. Understanding of network protocols and wifi technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- You have a solid knowledge of Windows 10-11/ MacOS Support, and no issues navigating and troubleshooting those. Furthermore, you have some experience using Linux, are comfortable using a shell terminal, and understand the basics of scripting.
- You have a security mindset, understanding the need to educate users on how to act in common situations such as phishing.
- Experience working in Confluence and Jira is beneficial.
- You are used to Microsoft services, preferably even administered some Microsoft Azure before. You have a basic understanding of directory services such as Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Exchange, and relations between users, groups and services.
